Is Ur visible from the southern hemisphere?
Ur is currently south of the celestial equator, so it is easier to see it from southern hemisphere countries such as Australia and South Africa. It crosses the celestial equator in a northerly direction in 2011, so in 10 years time it will be higher in the sky for northern hemisphere observers and lower in the sky for southern hemisphere observers.
